Friends of St. John the Caregiver
Saw my friend Bill Dodds at Mass this morning. He and his wife Monica have started a cool little apostolate that provides fellowship, prayer, and support to people who are caring for older loved ones. Doesn't cost nuthin' to join and there are no dues or meetings. But it's a growing phenom which, they discovered to their astonishment has no precedent in the Catholic Church. That's why they invented it. I hope Sherry Weddell is reading this, because the FSJC is a classic example of the sort of self-starting lay apostolic energy that the Siena Institute is all about.
If you are a caregiver, check out the FSJC. They are doing a good thing and they want to help you bear the burden you are carrying.
